Summary:

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. The candidate must have 5 to 10 years of experience in site engineering and be skilled in using AutoCad/Civil 3D, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel. Other qualifications the candidate should have are excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task, attention to detail and a valid drivers license.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Independently performs most design and process assignments with instructions as to general results expected. This position reports to a project manager.

2. Responsible for preparation of plans, profiles and details through the use of AutoCad/Civil 3D.

3. Prepare computations and balance earthwork.

4. Communicate design concepts to clients, governing agencies, the general public and co-workers.

5. Make calculations for storm drainage analysis, storm and sanitary sewer hydraulics and water main analysis.

6. Prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).

7. Perform cost estimating for construction by use of Excel programming.

8. Independently prepare correspondence, technical specifications and engineering reports.

 

Knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of all aspects of civil engineering principles and practices
  • Mathematics through trigonometry
  • Computer software and its application to civil engineering including: AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel, Word and HydroCAD

 

Skill and Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively in writing, including writing reports in a clear and concise manner
  • Communicate verbally in a professional and effective manner with Clients, governing agencies, the public and co-workers
  • Ability to be flexible with work assignments
  • Ability to be a team player
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willing to travel, if required

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • 5 to 10 years of related experience

 

Registration Status:

Must already have or be working towards Registered Professional License (PE) within one year of employment.
